Q: Booroi
Sizing and fit guide: Nappy covers should fit snug around babies waist and legs. If the cover is too loose, it may leak. Our covers provide plenty of stretch and flexibility, and when fitted correctly, should not leave marks on babies skin.
Booroi Nappy Cover Sizing Small Medium Large Weight 6.5-18lb 15-30lb 26-40lb Waist 11-20" 13-24" 14-26" Leg 4-8" 6-12" 8-14" Rise 14" 17" 19"
It is best to follow the measurements provided, as the weight ranges are approximate only. If you are using our covers over a fitted nappy, measure over nappy while it is on your baby, to ensure that the cover will fit the extra width at the waist etc. Generally speaking our covers provide a generous fit, due to their adjustability and stretch. The small size fits most newborns, and will last many months after that also, usually between 6-12 months of age. The medium size can last some toddlers until toilet training. Taller/older toddlers may move onto the large size, but many will not need to.
A:
Caring for your Booroi Cloth Nappy Products Before Use: We recommend you wash your items at least once before use. Bamboo nappies may need 3-4 washes before reaching maximum absorbency. They will shrink a little after washing, usually up to an inch both long and wide. Bamboo wipes and nappy covers do not require specific pre-washing, although washing once before wear ensures removal of any possible manufacturing residue. Pre-washing can be done on a cold or warm cycle, without detergent.
After Use: Remove soiling into the toilet. Store wet nappies in a dry pail on their own until washing day. There is no need to soak, and DO NOT BLEACH as this may shorten the lifespan of your nappies. Covers, if not soiled, may be wiped clean and air-dried between changes, to allow for less covers in rotation. If soiled, rinse cover under tap and keep with regular laundry until ready to wash. When stored with wet nappies, the fabric and elastic used in nappy covers can deteriorate quicker than if stored with regular laundry.
Washing: Run nappies through a cold rinse in the machine before washing. Wash on a normal, cold-warm cycle, with like colours. All items can be washed with other laundry items - this can help save water if you don't have enough nappies to make a full load. We recommend washing your nappies no less than every 2-3 days, to get the maximum wear out of the fabric. We advise using enzyme-free detergent, at around half the normal amount of detergent you would normally use. Do not use fabric softeners on nappies or covers, as this coats the fabric, affecting their performance. Note: Many people wash without detergents, and dry in the sun to remove stains and sterilise. Detergents of any kind will eventually cause a build up on nappies - if you find the absorbency is affected by build up, you may want to try doing a 'strip wash' to remove the residue.
Drying: Line or tumble dry nappies. Direct sunlight helps to remove stains and to sterilise, although this can make the fabric stiffer than normal. Drying in the shade or out of direct sunlight will help them feel softer. You may wish to alternate between the two methods, to get the best of both worlds. Covers are best dried away from direct heat, preferably on a line in the shade or inside. They are made of a very quick drying fabric, so should not need to be tumble dried. Tumble drying is not recommended, as the fabric and elastic will deteriorate quicker.
Q: Thirsties
Thirsties sizes are very generous. Resist the temptation to size up! Buying a diaper or cover that is too large, will end up leaking. Please note that the X-Small size is perfect for the average size newborn baby and will fit thru the first 2-3 months. If you are hoping to skip a size, Large may be the one to go without. Many babies can wear their Mediums all the way through to potty training.
X-SMALL (0-3 months) waist 10-15" thighs 4-8" rise 14" weight 6-12 lbs.
SMALL (2-12 months) waist 12-19" thighs 6-10" rise 16" weight 12-18 lb.
MEDIUM (10-30 months) waist 14-22" thighs 8-12" rise 18" weight 18-28 lb.
LARGE (24+) waist 16-25" thighs 10-14" rise 20" weight 28-40 lb.
A:
1. Shake solids into toilet. Newborn stools will be too loose to shake clean. In this case we recommend using a diaper sprayer or for the most simple solution, set your washing machine cycle for an extra initial short cleansing. Washing machines with a pre-wash cycle make diaper cleaning even easier and are the perfect solution to pre-rinsing. If you do not have a pre-wash cycle on your washer, then consider running your diapers through an initial short cycle followed by a heavy cycle. Use COLD water for the first pre-wash cycle to help lift stains.
Please note: Do not pre-soak your diapers for longer than 10 minutes. Presoaking will set the stink deeply within the fiber of your diaper and will also wear away the waterproof layer. Use a dry diaper pail for storing dirty diapers.
2. Collect soiled or wet diapers in a lined plastic dry pail. You can purchase a special made diaper pail, but we have found your basic plastic 52 quart garbage can and lid works just as well, is more affordable, and is available at your local department or hardware store.
3. You can optionally add a sprinkle of baking soda to your diapers and pail to help neutralize odors. Once mixed with water in your washer, the baking soda will help to lift stains.
4. For optimum cleanliness, limit the size of your load to no more than 24 diapers and wash every other day. As a general rule, the fewer diapers per load and the shorter the time between washes, the fresher your diapers will be.
5. Then, use HOT wash and rinse with high water level. Use a mild detergent with no phosphates, and minimal additives. Add only 1/2 the recommended amount of detergent for top-loaders and 1/3 the recommended dose for high efficiency and front-loaders. Avoid all soaps and many "Free & Clear" and/or popular baby detergents. These detergents will leave a residue on your diapers that will affect the absorbency and may cause 'stinky' diapers and/or diaper rash. Please see info and list compilation to the right for more info on cloth diaper detergents. .
5. Hang to dry or dry in dryer. Add a dry towel to the dryer to speed the drying process. Occasionally you may wish to dry in dryer on high heat to help with sterilization and to reseal lamination. Drying in direct sunlight is the very best method for drying and disinfecting. Hang drying also helps to preserve the textiles of your diapers and is great at getting rid of stains. Cotton and hemp diapers will be somewhat stiff when hung to dry. So to soften sun-dried dipes made from natural fibers, you may choose to use the dryer for the last 15 minutes.
6. Some parents like to add 1/2 cup vinegar to the final rinse to reduce residue of detergent or hard water. DO NOT use vinegar when washing cloth diapers made from synthetic textiles...this includes most all diaper covers and some brands of cloth diapers, including Thirsties® Fab Fitteds and Pocket AIOs. Synthetic fibers tend to hang on to the vinegar smell. In lieu of vinegar in the final rinse, we prefer plain lime juice. 1 Tsp lime juice will aid in naturally disinfecting and neutralizing, and is safe for all types of cloth diapers.
7. Even if you follow all the rules above, you still might end up with occasional stinky and less absorbent diapers due to detergent, diaper rash ointment, and/or water mineral residue. Simply replace your regular detergent with 1/4 cup Calgon® water softener (found at your local grocers) or 1-2 tsp Dawn® or Ivory® dishsoap. This process is often referred to as diaper stripping. Strip your diapers as often as needed, but not at every wash.
8. Finally, if your diapers are in need of a thorough deep cleaning, you can use a bit of OxyClean Baby® in place of your regular detergent. Do this only when needed. If you hang in the sun, you will find you never need to use OxyClean Baby®.
Q: Knickernappies
Sizing Small weight 5 -15 lbs rise 13-15 in thigh 5-12 in waist 10-19 in
Medium weight 13-28+ lbs rise 14-18 in thigh 7-15 in waist 11-22 in
Large weight 25-35+ lbs rise 15-20 in thigh 8-18 in waist 11-22 in
From Knickernappies: Please note that size charts are notoriously difficult to make. This one is based partly on the size chart written by the previous owner, partly my experience on my daughter, and partly on the experience of my customers. I've seen 16 pound babies wear a large and 28 pound babies wear mediums. The perfect fit is determined more by your baby's shape than her weight or even measurements.
To measure your baby's thighs, wrap a fabric tape around her thigh where her diaper normally sits. Do the same for the waist. For the rise, measure from her belly button down between her legs and up her back to where her belly button would be if we had them on our backs!
A:
Washing Instructions: How do I wash Knickernappies diapers? Simply run a cold rinse to wash off most of the ickies and prevent stains from setting. Then wash on hot with 2 or 3 Tablespoons of detergent*. Then either dry in the dryer or hang dry.
First wash before use: no special instructions for the first wash, but I highly recommend drying in the dryer the first time and once a month or so afterwards. This does help to seal the PUL nice and tight.
*For detergent, the actual amount that is best for you may vary depending on machine and water quality. Most people find that 2 to 3 tablespoons works for a top-loading machine and about 2-3 teaspoons for a front-loading machine.
Do not use free & clear detergents. In general, these will cause buildup. Allen's Naturally, Country Save, Mountain Green, Tide, Tide Free, and Planet all work well.
Do not use fabric softener.
Do not use bleach as it can cause the PUL to fail. Bac-Out and Oxyclean can be used to prevent odors and staining.
How do I dry Knickernappies diapers? You may dry them in the dryer or hang them to dry. If you choose to hang dry, go ahead and machine dry them once in a while to keep the PUL sealed.
Do I need to prep my Just-Hemp inserts? Yes, the hemp for the Just-Hemp inserts is not prewashed so it will need 3-4 washings separate from your diapers. You may wash them with other laundry (towels, clothing, etc) as long as the detergent recommendations are followed.
It can take up to 8 washings for hemp to be fully absorbant. You may use the inserts prior to this, just remember that they aren't fully primed so you may need to change diapers more often.
Do I need to prep my LoopyDo inserts, SuperDo inserts, or Stay-Dry Hemp Doublers? No. The hemp in these inserts has been prewashed so that it won't leave buildup on the microfiber or microfleece. These can be washed immediately with the rest of your diaper laundry. However, it will take 4-6 washings for these to become fully absorbant. You may use them in the meantime, but understand they aren't at their peak yet!
Can the Doorknob Diaper Pails be washed with my diapers? Yes! Just wash and dry with your diapers.
How do I wash the nursing pads and menstrual pads? Nursing pads can be washed with your baby's laundry or with your own. We do not recommend washing with diapers for sanitary reasons.
Menstrual pads, however, can be washed easily with diapers. You may want to rinse them first with cold water to prevent stains from setting but you can also skip this step. Simply toss them in the diaper pail, wash and dry with diapers. If you don't do diaper laundry, then they can be washed with towels or whatever laundry you feel comfortable washing them with. Use 1/2 the amount of detergent you'd normally use to keep your pads absorbant.

A:
Before first use Wash/dry fleece and unbleached diapers on hot/high several times to reach initial absorbency.
Wash only about a dozen or so at a time for the initial pre-washes. The fabric will lint a bit in these early washes.
Wash and dry bright or dark fabrics on hot/high several times before mixing with lighter colored diapers.
Depending on your water source and temperature, you may need fewer or additional washings, so always test colorfastness before mixing wet diapers of varying colors (e.g., toss in a white rag during a hot wash and dry cycle or two).
Regular Washing Routine There are many opinions about diaper washing, and many people have developed additional steps and routines based on their individual needs. Our advice is to start simple and adjust only if necessary for your baby or water-type.
Toss wet or dirty diapers into a dry pail; wash every 2-3 days. An optional cold-water pre-rinse helps prevent stains and odor. Use hot water and everyday detergent, unless that detergent contains fabric softeners (a no-no for diapers). Veggie-based soap helps keep fabric soft, although its effectiveness depends on the hardness of your water. In any water, soap can coat fabric, so consider alternating soap and detergent to avoid decreased absorbency over time. No chlorine bleach. Nasty stuff, bleach. No fabric softeners, which coat fabric and reduce absorbency. Some babies require fragrance-free or enzyme-free detergents; most don't.
Drying diapers in a dryer, even on high heat, is perfectly okay, although an occasional sunning of clean, wet diapers will go a long way to freshen them and reduce or eliminate staining.
If you choose to sun the diapers or line dry rather than use a dryer, we strongly suggest either laying the diapers flat to dry, or hanging them horizontally rather than by the waist or front section. Hanging wet diapers by the waist allows the heavy, wet weight to pull on leg elastic, which may reduce its useful life.

Washing Instructions
A:
Wash after each use Remove solids Remove inserts. No soaking required Wash on HOT using 1/2 strength additive free detergent Rinse well Air dry or tumble dry on low heat NEVER use bleach, fabric softeners, enzyme cleaners, or brighteners. This will ruin your diapers and void ALL WARRANTIES
Q: Gro Baby
Washing Organic cotton inners must be washed/dried on hot 3 times prior to first use and WILL NOT reach it's full absorbency until approximately 6-8 washes.
A:
Wash hot, tumble dry before use Remove as much solid matter as possible. Place soiled soaker pads in a dry diaper pail - no soaking is necessary. Wash every 2 days. Start with a cold rinse. Wash in hot water with half the amount of recommended detergent. Do an extra rinse if desired. Tumble dry or hang outside for extra freshness and to remove stains. Do NOT use bleach, enzyme cleaners or fabric softeners.

Washing instructions for pocket diapers and trainers: Remove the inserts Cold Soak for 10-20 minutes depending on the level of dirt Wash on hot with slightly less than 1/4 cup of detergent You can add a downy ball of vinegar to the wash if the diapers have a heavy urine scent. I recommend a downy ball because it releases the vinegar at the right time - no need to wait by the machine. Rinse well to ensure all detergent is removed from diapers. Dry on high heat. The high heat of the dryer will keep your Happy Heiny functioning like new. We personally dry our PUL products on high heat and although we have had prolonged use with these products we have not noticed any break down of our PUL.
Caring for Heiny Huggers Wash new diapers before use. You may notice that they produce a bit of lint in the beginning, this is normal for Sherpa. Cold rinse Warm-hot wash Same detergents as the HH No chlorine, no bleach, no fabric softners. May be dried on high heat. Occasionally you may notice that your Sherpa diapers are not as soft after a few months of use as they were when new. All you need to do is rinse the diapers a few times in the washer without detergent. Add vinegar to the rinse cycle. This will help to restore the natural softness to the Sherpa.

Care and use: Wash all new diapers before use and make sure to dry AIOs on HOT to seal needle holes in the PUL. After prewashed/used, We wash in cold with a small "squirt" of generic laundry detergent. View list of recommended detergents » Then Wash HOT with NO detergent to sanitize, sterilize, kill bacteria, etc. Then we dry all our diapers on HOT until dry. Allow diapers to completely cool before folding, wearing or putting away as pulling on elastic while it is warm/hot will cause the elastic to wear out or break fast!!!
Diapers may require several washes to gain maximum absorbency.

Preparing For Use
Please pre-wash your Drybees cloth diapers before use. Wash your diaper in warm water with a reduced amount of detergent. You may dry your Drybees Cloth Diapers in a low dryer, or outside on a clothesline. Wait until diapers are completely cool before stretching, pulling on, or stuffing diapers or you can ruin your elastics. DryBees Pockets, Night Times, or Hybrid AIO's are all washed the same. Brightly colored night time diapers should be washed separately the first time because some of the outer fleeces do bleed for the first wash. Washing brightly colored laminated diapers in extremely hot or boiling water may cause these diapers to bleed or delaminate. Generally, this is a guideline for international customers as their washing water tends to be much hotter than what we use in the USA. Microfiber inserts should be pre-washed on hot with reduced detergent. Please dry your microfiber inserts on low in your dryer or outside on a clothesline.
Bamboo Diapers should be prewashed two times or more for best absorbency before use. Bamboo fabric should be handled more gently. Do not stretch while wet or fresh out of the dryer. When line hanging Bamboo diapers hang so you are not pulling in the direction of the stretchiest part of the diaper (ie, hang sideways for diaper and soaker)
Washing your Drybees Cloth Diapers
Washing your Drybees cloth diapers is very easy. First, fold back your laundry tabs. This ensures that you won't find the dreaded "diaper snake" after you wash your diapers. Take care the first few times to match up the hook and loop carefully until your diaper tabs "learn" where to fold easily. Next pull out the inserts. Finally throw it all in the washing machine. Choose the warm water level that will completely cover all your diapers and use a reduced amount of detergent. Using water that is too hot or boiling can weaken the bond of the laminate to your outer fabric. You can use a second rinse to ensure all of the detergent is rinsed out. Please tumble dry on your diapers on the low setting of your dryer or outside on a clothesline. Using a hot dryer can cause the lamination to stick together and pull apart.

Q: Fuzzi Bunz
small 7-18 lbs. 0-8 months thigh 5-10 inches rise 13 inches
medium 15-30 lbs. 6-36 months thigh 9-13 inches rise 15 inches
large 25-45+ lbs. 12+ months thigh 12-16 inches rise 16 inches
XS FuzziBunz™ are for either preemie or very small babies - they will fit newborns very well, however, not for a very long time.
Small FuzziBunz™ will fit babies that are newborn (although they may be a tad big at first) through about 6 or 8 months of age when they are ready for the mediums.
Medium FuzziBunz™ will fit babies with either small or large thighs. Medium is our most popular size because babies stay in this size the longest! They will fit babies from about 4 months old (depending on their growth rate and size build) up to potty training stages.
Large FuzziBunz™ will generally not start fitting your baby until at the very least, 12 months old or are in the weight range or very tall.
Petite, Toddler and XL are specialty sizes. Mediums have been found from our size testing to fit better and for longer periods than the Petite size diaper for skinny toddlers. XL can be used for older potty training children or other circumstances where larger diaper is needed.
A:
Caring for your Fuzzi Bunz: Fuzzi Bunz diapers are single use diapers. Wash both the Fuzzi Bunz and insert after each use. Most babies will experience little to no diaper rash after using Fuzzi Bunz. Do not use any rash or diaper ointments or creams with the diapers. When wet, separate insert and Fuzzi Bunz and store in a dry diaper pail. If soiled, simply knock solids into toilet. Small solids stuck to the fleece will dissolve in the wash. Use a mini-shower toilet attachment to rinse off soiled diapers over the toilet (optional). Washing/Drying your Fuzzi Bunz: First, run a cold rinse or soak cycle with no detergent. Second, run a hot cycle with detergent (see Recommended Brands). Do not use bleach. Third, if your hot wash is not automatically followed by a cold rinse, run a cold rinse cycle. This step only necessary with a particularly dirty load. Tumble dry the diapers in dryer on low or hang to dry. Do not use fabric softener or pure soap*. Never dry on high heat.
Q: Mommys Touch
Mommy’s Touch Easy Clean Diapers
Wash once when new. Both the diaper and insert need to be changed at each diaper change. When wet, simply put the diaper and insert in the diaper pail. The insert should come out of the pouch in your washing machine, so you should not need to remove it by hand. If soiled, solid waste will fall right off the diaper into the toilet. No dunking required. Whatever remains on the fleece will dissolve in the wash. You may use a Mini Shower or similar diaper sprayer to rinse it off if you prefer. Then just put the diaper in the pail until wash day.
To wash: • Cold soak or rinse to prevent stains from setting. • Hot wash (125 F max) using 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended amount of detergent. • Extra rinse if necessary to be sure all the detergent is rinsed out. • Dry on low to medium heat or hang to dry.

Mommy’s Touch All-In-Ones
Wash Once when new. If soiled, solid waste will fall right off the diaper into the toilet. No dunking required. Whatever remains on the fleece will dissolve in the wash. You may use a Mini Shower or similar diaper sprayer to rinse it off if you prefer. If you are using an extra hemp snap in doubler, you may want to unsnap it before putting it in the dryer so it dries more quickly.
No bleach or fabric softeners. No rash creams.
Mama Pads
Presoak or rinse in cold water. Then machine wash and dry with your other laundry. If you are also washing cloth diapers, you may want to just wash your mama pads along with the diapers.
Wetbags/Pail Liners
W etbags and Pail Liners can be washed with the diapers and hung to dry for best results. They can be dried in the dryer on low to medium heat. If you have problems with your pail liner holding water try turning it inside out, or you may want to wash it separately from your diapers if it causes a problem.
